Overcoming the challenges of delivery
It is accepted that modern infrastructure is essential to Ireland’s future success – supporting the economy, helping to promote equality of opportunity for all and improving the public services we all depend on. Despite the challenging economic environment, progress is advancing in delivering infrastructure on this island and both governments have identified it as a priority. However, going forward infrastructure investment is facing a number of challenges, including:
- Tightening public finances on a scale not previously experienced;
- A complex and challenging financing environment;
- Increased emphasis on efficient, lean infrastructure – providing more for less;
- Sharper focus on investment to support economic recovery and growth.
Infrastructure Ireland 2010 ® is the 5th Annual All Island Infrastructure Investment Conference. It has become firmly established as the major annual conference for all those with a role or interest in the development of infrastructure on the island of Ireland and is attended by all the key players.
This year’s conference will examine in detail the key issues around financing and delivering infrastructure for the island of Ireland in the ongoing difficult economic climate. The programme, which includes a high level panel of local and visiting speakers will address the following key issues:
